Satisfy Rippy Force Puffer Jacket
This $1,000 puffer carries 850 fill-power down and marine-grade ripstop, well above the 700-fill rating the Columbia Dually offers at $425.

The Satisfy Rippy Force Puffer Jacket is $1,000, the opening piece in the brand's new Rippy Force Down Program alongside a $710 sleeping bag. Satisfy built its name on running gear with a counterculture streak, and this is its first move into insulation.
The fabric is the point. Rippy Force is a high-tenacity polyester developed in Japan for windsurfing and kiting, which means it is built to take load and abrasion in wet, abrasive conditions rather than to look good folded on a shelf. That history is why the jacket can be ultralight and still resist tearing. The whole garment weighs 1.32 pounds.
Inside is 850 fill-power grey goose down, sourced from Allied Feather & Down, which is a serious fill rating and explains most of the warmth for the weight. The baffles that hold that down in place are not sewn channels but all-over embroidery of the Satisfy logo, which stops the fill from drifting and doubles as the jacket's visible branding. It is a genuinely clever piece of construction dressed up as decoration, not the other way around.
There are six pockets for storage, a separate underarm panel called ThermoFront OCT for venting at the arms, an adjustable hem, cinching cuffs and a 10D micro-ripstop lining, and the whole thing packs into its own attached stuff sack. It comes in Falcon brown or black. None of this is unusual for a serious ultralight puffer. What is unusual is a running-and-lifestyle brand sourcing marine sailcloth for its first down jacket instead of a safer, generic ripstop.

The verdict
An intelligent use of an odd fabric, and the embroidery baffling alone justifies the premium over a generic ultralight puffer. Buy it for the construction, not the logo.
