For PR
Send releases to press@plastergoods.com. What Plaster Goods covers, what a useful press kit contains, and how we handle embargoes and samples.
Send releases, embargoes, look books and kit requests to press@plastergoods.com. That address is read every weekday morning, and we reply to the ones we are going to run.
What we cover
- Menswear. Outerwear, footwear, denim, tailoring, bags. Heritage makers and new labels equally.
- Watches. Independents and microbrands especially, majors when the release is actually new.
- Spirits. Whisky, agave, rum and amaro, especially limited releases, cask finishes and new distilleries.
- Cars. Reveals, concepts, restomods, and the objects around them.
- Travel. Luggage, carry, and the hardware of moving about.
- Home. Kitchen, barware, furniture, and the machines that live on a worktop. Cookware and coffee especially.
- Tech. Audio, photography and carry electronics. We care about repairability and we will say so.
- Grooming. Razors, fragrance, skincare, and the strange engineering that keeps turning up in this category.
What is useful in a release
We can write a piece in under an hour from a kit that contains these five things, and we cannot write one at all without the first two:
- Price and currency, and the market it applies to. If pricing is not final, say that and we will write that.
- On-sale date, and the embargo time in UTC if there is one.
- Two or three specifications that are actually new. Not the whole sheet. The thing that changed.
- Images as a direct download, 2000 px on the long edge or better, with the usage permission stated in the email. A link to a gallery that wants a login costs you coverage; we will move on to the next release rather than request access.
- A named human who can confirm a figure the same day.
Embargoes
We honour them. Send the time in UTC and we will wait for it. We would rather have the release two days early under embargo than at the same moment as everyone else, and we will tell you if we cannot hold one.
Samples
We do not require samples and most of what we publish is reported without one. If you want to send something, say whether it needs to come back and by when. Anything we test is disclosed in the first line of the piece as a press sample, every time, and a sample does not buy a good review. Several people have found this out.
What we will not do
Sponsored posts, paid placements, guaranteed coverage, link insertions into existing pieces, affiliate-network pitches for products we have not seen, and AI-written filler. If your email contains the phrase "content partnership" we have already stopped reading.
Who we are
A small, new, independent site that publishes every weekday and links straight out to whoever sells the thing. We are not going to inflate our numbers at you. We launched recently and our audience is growing from a standing start. What we can offer in the meantime is speed, an original piece rather than your release pasted into a template, and a permanent link that stays up.
Write to press@plastergoods.com. There is also an RSS feed if you would rather watch than write.
