Kia EV4 GT Rafael Nadal Clay Tribute
Styling clay here is blended with real court earth from Monte Carlo, Paris, Rome, and Madrid, turning a design tool into a record of four surfaces.

Kia has built a full-size model of its EV4 GT hatchback out of clay, and the clay is partly real court earth. The sculpture blends traditional styling clay with tennis court clay gathered from Monte Carlo, Paris, Rome and Madrid, the four surfaces where Rafael Nadal built his reputation as the King of Clay. It was presented to Nadal at his academy in Mallorca. There is no price, because it is not a product. Kia built one, for one person.
The car shares its footprint with the production EV4 GT, but it has no interior and cannot be driven. It sits on production wheels and tires, which means it can likely be rolled from place to place, the way clay models usually are during design work. White design tape marks the character lines, standing in for tennis court lines, and the panels carry printed numbers rather than badges: 63 titles on clay, 81 consecutive wins on clay, four French Open titles, five seasons at world number one.
Clay modeling is a genuine step in car design, used by Kia to judge proportions, surfaces, finishes and tensions before anything is stamped in metal. What makes this one unusual is the material itself. Mixing standard styling clay with earth from Roland-Garros and three other courts turns a design tool into a biography, assembled from the ground Nadal actually played on.
Nadal has been a Kia global ambassador since 2006, the year of his first Grand Slam. The tribute reads as an anniversary gesture rather than a product launch, built for a garage of one rather than a showroom.

The verdict
Not a car anyone can buy, and more honest for it. A tribute sculpture that says more about Nadal than a production Stinger badge ever could.
