Columbia CSC1938 Dually Mountain Outerchange
Omni-Heat Infinity lining reflects body heat without bulk, backing the 700-fill down that fills this jacket, $425.

The CSC1938 Dually Mountain Outerchange is $425 at Columbia, available in the returning black-on-black and a new dark stone-on-white. It pairs a down puffer with a utility vest styled after the Henry's Fork Vest, a hunting garment Columbia made in the 1960s.
The puffer carries RDS-certified 700-fill goose down, insulation rarely found in a jacket at this price. The shell is 100% nylon treated with Omni-Shield, which is built to repel moisture and resist stains. The lining is 100% polyester with Omni-Heat Infinity, a thermal-reflective pattern designed to hold body heat without extra bulk. A drawcord hood and zippered hand pockets round out the jacket on its own.
The vest is where the piece earns its name. Two zippers let it attach directly to the puffer rather than simply sit on top, so the combination behaves as one garment instead of two stacked ones. Its cargo pockets route access to the jacket's own hand pockets through open welts, meaning nothing underneath needs to be removed to reach them. A two-way main zipper lets heat vent while cycling or wearing a pack with a sternum strap, a detail aimed at actual use rather than display.
The vest's origin is a hunting garment, and the tactical pocketing still reads that way up close. Paired with the clean white colorway, though, the effect shifts toward an urban silhouette that has little to do with its source. That gap between where the design came from and where it now looks at home is the real appeal of this release, more than the camo-free colorway alone.

The verdict
A clever two-piece system at a fair price for the down inside it. Buy the white if you want the vest to read as clothing rather than gear.
