Decent Espresso Bengle

Decent Espresso has announced the Bengle, coming in 2026 at $6,000. It warms up in two minutes. It carries a waterproof scale accurate to 0.1 g, good to 2.8 kg, inside the machine. There is a new water pump and a large Android tablet driving it, and the steam wand has a non-stick tip to cut heat loss.

The usual way to justify six thousand dollars is to bolt a screen onto a pump and call it professional. The screen is the oldest idea here. Decent has shipped a tablet-driven machine for eight years and published what it learned, including what did not work, which is not how appliance companies behave.

Two minutes is the specification that changes a morning. Most prosumer machines want fifteen to thirty minutes to reach temperature, which means deciding on coffee the night before or leaving a 1,400 W boiler on. Two minutes makes espresso a decision instead of a schedule.

The scale matters for a duller reason. Espresso is a ratio of grams in to grams out, and the usual arrangement is a separate scale on the drip tray, a phone timer and an argument. A 0.1 g scale under the cup removes two of those.

Decent says on its own page that the machine is under active development and the specification may change. That sentence costs a company sales, and almost nobody writes it.
